Just Like Romeo and Juliet... Activity 6

Printing fonts and handwriting techniques have changed greatly in 400 years. Please read the following:

"The Office of Christian Parents: The Ordering of Sonnes from Fourteene Yeare Old and Upward"

On your blog, type your observations as to the visual style - letters, punctuation, spelling - of this document from 1616 from one that is contemporary.

We will discuss this together in class.

If you finish early, please read
Romeo and Juliet ACT 3, 1

Then get in a group of 3-4 people around you.

Welcome Back!
Wow reading what was written is 1616 was a bit complicated.  It took the class a very long time to read just one page ..i can't imaging how long it would take  to read a whole book of them.  The spelling was different the word us looked like vs and the s would like an l.  Some things bearly made sense others seemed like they had nothing to ldo in the piece of writting.  Also at times I was lost and it was not very easy to picture what was going on in the text because most of the time i had to be concentrating on what the word was and how to say it correctly.
